55 YEARS WEINGUT ARGUS


  

Dear Customer,

you will find our winery in Gleisweiler, a small village, at the German Winestreet. It is situated about 30 km north of the french border, directly beside the palatinate forest. Down the feet of the hills our vines are growing. Our family is working here since several generations.

In 1954 George Argus started the first botteling of wine. Now, 55 years later, we are the last winery in our village, producing within the old center of the village. In our old cellar, build in 1610, we store wine in wooden barrels as generations did before us. That makes us very proud.

We produce our wines by protecting invironment. In our winelist you will find a lot of traditional species and also new breedings of vines resistant  against diseases.

One sector of our production is to store wine in oak-barrels and also in chestnut-barrels.

Since 1988 we produce our own champagne.

To conserve the quality of the grapes and make them to delicious and healthy wines is our destination.
